How OnlyFans free accounts and free trials work

Free account or free trial: the short version

• Free account: the creator has not set a subscription price. The OnlyFans Terms of Use list setting "a monthly subscription price, if any" as part of opening a creator account, so a price is optional. LovelyFans marks these accounts as "Free account".
• Free trial: a promotion on a paid account. OnlyFans' own blog says creators with paid subscription accounts can start a promotion campaign and choose either a free trial or a first-month discount, setting the offer limit, the expiration and the trial length, and then share a link to the profile (OnlyFans blog, July 2024).
• Paid subscription: a monthly price set by the creator. The Terms say creators alone decide their prices, and that prices are shown and charged in US dollars, with sales tax added where it applies.

Do OnlyFans subscriptions renew automatically?

Yes, paid subscriptions do. The Terms of Use (section 9) say a subscription "will automatically renew at the current rate (plus Indirect Sales Tax)" and that OnlyFans can charge again after each period unless one of these is true:

• your payment is declined and you have not added another payment method,
• the subscription price has gone up,
• you switched off the "Auto-Renew" feature on that creator's account, or
• you closed your OnlyFans account before the new period began.

The Terms also say you will not get a separate notice before each renewal, so it is worth checking your subscriptions yourself.

What happens if you cancel?

According to the Terms, if you cancel a subscription you can still view that creator's content until the end of the period you already paid for. After that, no more payments are taken for that creator unless you subscribe again, and you lose access to the content.

What happens when a free trial ends?

The public OnlyFans pages we checked for this guide, the Terms of Use and the blog post on promotion campaigns, do not say whether a free trial turns into a paid subscription on its own when it ends. We are not going to guess. Before a trial runs out, open the creator's profile on OnlyFans and look at the subscription and Auto-Renew settings shown there, so you know exactly what will happen.

Can a free account still cost money?

It can. In the Terms of Use, a subscription covers the content a creator makes available to subscribers and "excludes individually priced content". The Terms also list pay-per-view content and other payments between a fan and a creator, such as through direct messages, as separate kinds of creator interaction. So subscribing to a free account costs nothing, but a creator may still offer paid extras. You choose whether to buy them.

Who can subscribe?

The Terms of Use say you must be at least 18 years old to open a fan account, and that you need to add payment information to your account before you click Subscribe on a creator's profile. LovelyFans is also 18+ only.

Questions

Is a free OnlyFans account the same as a free trial?

No. A free account has no subscription price. A free trial is a limited offer on a paid account, which a creator sets up as a promotion campaign and shares as a link.

Do OnlyFans subscriptions auto-renew?

Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the current rate unless you switch off Auto-Renew, the price goes up, your payment is declined or you close your account, according to the OnlyFans Terms of Use.

Does a free trial turn into a paid subscription?

The OnlyFans Terms of Use and the blog post we checked do not say. Check the subscription and Auto-Renew settings on the creator's OnlyFans profile before the trial ends.

How many free OnlyFans accounts does LovelyFans list?

25,353 of the 117,857 creators on LovelyFans are listed as free, as of October 9, 2026. See the free accounts page.

Where do these rules come from?

From OnlyFans' public Terms of Use (last updated August 2024) and the OnlyFans blog post How to Promote Your OnlyFans Profile (July 29, 2024), both read on October 12, 2026. OnlyFans can change its terms at any time, so its own pages are the final word.
